Event description

Description

Register to attend a public forum on the impact of STEM Educators in the 21st Century, proudly hosted by the UWA Science Union and Teach For Australia.

We welcome all students, staff, and the general public, to attend a public panel discussion with STEM Educators from 6pm to 8pm on The University of Western Australia campus on Wednesday 9th August 2017. The event will conclude with canapes and networking with speakers and attendees.

Our panel of STEM Educators will share their thoughts on the topic ‘The need for STEM Subject Matter Experts as Educators in the Twenty First Century’. The topic has been selected in order to facilitate a conversation regarding, among other items:

  • The skill and mindset requirements of Twenty First Century careers, particularly in STEM;
  • Whether traditional teaching methods are adequately preparing our youth for a rapidly modernizing world;
  • Whether Subject Matter Experts as Educators in our schooling system will raise student outcomes and passions for learning.

Speakers will be announced shortly, and will include Teach For Australia STEM Alumni and STEM Education experts.
