Within the last few years, we have seen a proliferation in the use of social media in society. It now affects the way people consume and share information and how they interact with one another. Within the higher education sector, students are increasingly using social media tools, not only in their everyday lives but also to support their university studies.
In the session, Bronwyn Tarrant will demonstrate her experience with using the micro-blogging tool Twitter, as a discussion board in clinically based subjects with students studying nursing. The session also aims to offer tips for using Twitter for engagement and collaborative learning in teaching clinical subjects.
