Description

Join our exciting new Urban Plants Collective group which will meet monthly to discuss all things plants! There will be opportunities for plant swaps, sharing home grown produce and occasional workshops hosted by guest speakers.

This month: The self-watering garden bed with guest speaker Chris Jones

A timely gardening workshop to learn how to conserve water, build water storage in the soil and create structures which limit water loss in the garden. Planting to limit evaporation and wicking beds will be discussed.

Chris Jones is a volunteer at the Community Environment Centre and winner of the Local Volunteer Award 2019 (Environment category). Chris has a garden with over 24 raised garden beds growing his own produce.
