Urban Food Growing, Working Bee & Autumn Garden Lunch
Sat. 25 March 2017, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm AEDT
Our calendar tells us it is autumn, but it still feels like a beautiful late summer: Great time for you to be outside!
Come and meet our dedicated garden team from all walks of life for the second working bee of 2017 at the Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre. We will be cultivating soil, planting winter crops and sowing sweet peas along our new 70 meters of fenceline, to bring colour and joy during the cold winter months ahead!
In addition to getting your hands dirty, you will have the opportunity to attend a workshop presented by Sebastian Beck, about how to properly pile up a compost heap with all the beautiful things from your veggie patch that didn't make it to your plate.
After all the hard work, there'll be a delicious vegetarian (free!) lunch to share with all the beautiful people you have met throughout the morning. It will be cooked up for you by the fabulous team from OpenTable with food which has been rescued from going to landfill. To lend a hand in the kitchen please email email@example.com.
