Event description

Description

Are you a regular rider? Are you keen to brush up on your bike control skills and improve your on-road riding techniques?

If so, this 2.5 hour course is for you!

This small group workshop is designed for adults. It is perfect if you already have adequate bike control skills, and are looking to boost your confidence to ride on local roads.

At the start of the course, you will be asked to demonstrate your bike-riding competence in key skills such as head-checks, signalling and using gears. These basic skills are a pre-requisite for this course.

Our two instructors will then take you for an on-road ride where you will:

  • discuss route planning
  • learn about defensive riding techniques
  • practice road positioning
  • learn to navigate through intersections and roundabouts
  • use bike lanes with confidence
  • and much, much more!

Please meet at the REAR CARPARK of the Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre.

Please note: This Urban Cycling Confidence course will be repeated again on Saturday 18th November from 2pm - 4.30pm. You only need to register for ONE of these workshops.

BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL!

This practical session is run by the professionals at Bikes@Work and is proudly supported by the City of Darebin for people who live, work or study in the municipality.
