Event Details

The Storytelling:  Storyeller Claire Teisen creates a minature underwater world iwith origami figures, painted paper and pop up strutures to tell the legend of the fisherman's adventures at the sea king's palace. Claire sings traditional Japanese children's songs throughout the story, creating an atmospheric background for the visuals. 

The Workshop: After the storytelling, the audience is led through a step-by-step process to create their own paper characters, male and female, using beautiful washi paper and especially cut pieces prepared in advance. 

Materials provided.

When: Tuesday 11th July 2.00pm—3.00pm
Where:  Albert Park Library
Cost: Free –bookings essential         

Suits ages 5-11.  

Parents welcome too! If your child is aged 5-7 please stay and join in the activity with them!

 

This event is not appropriate for children aged less than 5 years old.
