About Fan Beilei

Trained in architecture and urban design in China and Germany, Fan Beilei started her architectural career at Atelier Deshaus, before co-founding Genarchitects in Shanghai in 2013.

Beilei’s work has been honoured and exhibited widely, including at the Iconic Awards (2022), DFA Awards (2022), WA Achievement Award (2016), Venice Architecture Biennale (2021), Inaugural Sino-Europe Invitational Architectural Exhibition (2020) and Contemporary Chinese Architecture Exhibition at Harvard GSD (2016).

A visiting lecturer at Tongji University since 2018, Beilel has served as a guest critic at Tianjin University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has been invited to attend academic symposiums and give speeches at universities and institutions including Harvard University, the University of Hong Kong, Southeast University, and PSA Shanghai.

How can I get to the event?

Paid parking is available at State Library of Queensland and QAGOMA car parks via Stanley St The free 86 bus stops outside State Library We are 10 mins from the Cultural Centre bus way and South Brisbane station Ride share and taxis can drop you at the front of State Library in Stanley Place.

Where is The Edge Auditorium?

The Edge Auditorium is located in a separate building (The Edge), close to the river, next to the main library building. Follow our wayfinding signs to find us or look at our webpage for a map.

How much does it cost to attend the lecture?

It's free - just register your tickets.

How will we ask questions of the speaker?

We will be using a platform called Slido which you can access from your smartphone or device. The questions and ideas will be projected on a large screen
