Upskilled - IT & Social Media Safety
Wed. 28 June 2017, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm AEST
Upskilled is a series of information sessions for women of the ACT region providing practical and informative information and resources to provide women with knowledge, empowerment and skills to live their lives positively and confidently.
While these sessions are organised by DVCS and some are facilitated by DVCS staff, they are also facilitated by specialists in the area of expertise required.
These sessions are aimed at all people identifying as female in the ACT region, regardless of their relationship status, financial status, age, residency and immigration status and whether or not they are a current or previous client of DVCS. In other words, you do not have to have experienced domestic or family violence to attend these sessions.
Registration is necessary for all sessions. If you are unable to make it, we appreciate you letting us know so we can open your place for someone else.
All sessions include light refreshments (coffee, tea and biscuits).
There are no child care options available during these sessions and some sessions are not appropriate for people under the age of 16 years.
Our IT and Social Media Safety session hopes to provide you with information on operating and maintaining a computer or lap top safely and to ensure you get the best use out of it. Additionally the social media aspect will assist you with using social media safely. General technology safety will also be covered. This session is presented by Sennell IT and DVCS.
Other sessions being held include:
16 May - Personal banking
22 August - Car maintenance
20 September - Sports for children
19 October - Home maintenance
16 November - Family and individual support services of the ACT
