The Last Arts Trail for 2016
The Blue Mountains are known as N.S.W capitol of the Arts and for good reason. There is a vibrant Arts community living and working in this beautiful world heritage area but how many people know an artist or have been inside an artist’s studio?
The Blue Mountains Artists Network or BMAN, give the public the opportunity to do just that by organising Arts Trails throughout the year. Between 10am-4pm on the weekend of 22-23 October the last Arts trail for 2016 will be held in the Upper Mountains. Come and meet the 8 artists who will be displaying their latest artworks. Some artists will be demonstrating how they produce their art in the studios. There will be a wide range of Visual arts show cased including painting, photography, ceramics, woodwork and mosaics. Come for the experience, or for those patrons of the arts it will be possible to purchase artwork or commission a piece to your specifications. In an age of mass production it is a wonderful thing to own unique works of art. Some of the artists will offer workshops so you can learn the skills needed to produce your own.
Drive yourself or if you would like a more relaxed day there will be a FREE courtesy bus. Places on the bus are limited and bookings are essential by calling 0424 188 779. There will be one bus leaving from Mt Victoria Railway Station and one bus leaving from Lawson. Details will be available at the time of booking. Passengers are asked to choose the studios they would like to visit prior to joining the bus. The list of studios are on the BMAN website. The final schedule will be dependent on how many passengers are on board.
