Up, up and away holiday program

Up, up and away holiday program

Overview

Blast off at National Archives this school holiday! Dive into spaceflight design with hands-on crafts and a family-friendly film!

Spark your child's creativity at our school holiday program inspired by our new exhibition In real life: inventors, innovators and opportunists.

In the craft session, children will first design their own spacecraft on paper and then create a 3D prototype using a variety of craft materials.

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at Cafe Constitution or explore our permanent galleries.

Finish the day with a screening of the family-friendly Australian film, Paper Planes, complete with popcorn!

Event Schedule:

  • 10:15 to 11:30 am – Craft session
  • 12:45 – 2:30 pmPaper Planes screening

The program is for children aged 7 to 12, who must be accompanied by an adult. Only children require tickets—parents or guardians can join for free. You can also book tickets for either activity.

We’re also offering a standalone program for children who identify as neurodivergent and their families. You can reserve your spot here.

If you’re an NAA Member, remember to enter your member promotional code during registration to enjoy this program for free!
