Unsettling Ecopoetics Salon
Event Information
About this Event
Bringing together some of Australia’s leading poetic practitioners, the Unsettling Ecopoetics Salon asks how do we write about our environments, geographies, ecologies and world/s now? Over two hours of performance come listen to writers Evelyn Araluen, Michelle Cahill, Jonathan Dunk, Anne Elvey, Michael Farrell, Toby Fitch, Jill Jones, Jeanine Leane, Peter Minter, and Sue Reid (and others!) wrestle with what role poetry – and writing more broadly – can play in a time of increased uncertainty about our role on this planet and in the unique geographical and socio-political circumstances of the land masses commonly called Australia.
This event is part of the Unsettling Ecological Poetics Symposium, 24-25 October 2019, at the University of Sydney.
