Indooroopilly Uniting Church invite you to attend a screening of ‘UNREST,’ an award winning documentary on ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) by Jennifer Brea. http://www.unrest.film/

Screening Starts at 10.15am

Time: 9.30am refreshments on arrival for a 10.15am Screening 12 noon Q+A

Free to book, Entry via donation at the door – all money raised will go toward ME/CFS Research. Limited seating is available.

The church is located near buses and trains. It has parking at the back via Musgrave Rd. It is wheelchair accessible via a lift from the car park (or by being dropped off at the front of the church on Station Rd.) The seats are padded.

ME/CFS is a chronic neuroimmune disease that has many symptoms, affecting all systems of the body. There are approximately 150 000 Australians with ME/CFS and millions of people are affected worldwide. Approximately 25% of people with ME are severely affected and are housebound or bedridden.

A TED Talk by ‘Unrest’ Director Jennifer Brea is available for viewing online: https://www.ted.com/talks/jen_brea_what_happens_when_you_have_a_disease_doctors_can_t_diagnose

Shiloh Moore of ByShi Art and ME/CFS Advocacy www.byshi.hogfish.net will hopefully introduce the session, health permitting. She has had ME/CFS for 27 years, many years housebound and bedbound. She will have 2018 Calendars of her artwork ($25), and her autobiographical poetry book ‘Stranger In The Moving Chair’ ($15) for sale with 20% going toward ME/CFS Research.

This screening is being held especially to raise awareness in the local community about the hidden patient experience of ME/CFS around the world. Those who know little about ME/CFS but who are open-minded to learn about it and support the cause are most welcome. Medical professionals, teachers, politicians, therapists, students and the general public are encouraged to attend.
