Event description

Description

Explore how blockchain is revolutionising the accounting and finance profession in a lively debate hosted by Monash Business School’s Department of Accounting, on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

Bitcoin, the most famous example of this revolutionary technology, is managed by its network rather than any one central authority.

This decentralised technology – a global network of computers jointly managing transaction databases – allows for instant peer-to-peer exchange and presents one of the largest disruptors to business today.

But what impact will this have on how we do business? What will be the role of accountability and trust in business exchange? What will immutability do for audit?

Whose truth will be represented in this new data world?

Join our expert panel of industry experts as they challenge the relationship between technology, ownership, governance and accountability.

Confirmed panellist include:

Luke Briscoe, Co-Founder of INDIGI LAB

Dr John Vaz, Department of Banking and Finance, (Monash Business School)

Sulu Fiti, Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand)

Rishi Kher, Chief Operations Officer, MetaliCoi

Registration: 5.30 pm for a 6.15 pm commencement

We hope to see you there!
