Unlocking Abilities: Developing touch screen, switch and eye gaze skills for learning and beyond

Presented by Lisa Ozsdolay (Occupational Therapist)

The Independent Living Centre of WA has developed a new resource to assist therapists and educators in supporting students with multiple disabilities to develop their access skills (touch screen, switch and eye gaze) to become more active learners in the classroom. This videoconference will explain how to use the resource to assist your practice and discuss the principles underlying development of access skills.

Learning outcomes:

  • Develop knowledge of resources available to support students to develop access skills
  • Develop an understanding of best practice in assisting children to develop access skills

Target audience: Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Teachers, Education Assistants

**PLEASE NOTE: This session is aimed at allied health professionals within WA Country Health Services (WACHS), who have access to the WACHS videoconferencing network.
