Description

This is an opportunity to meet the Vice-chancellor's team for Westmead and hear updates and news about the University's strategic initiatives at the Westmead precinct. Everyone is strongly encouraged to come along, ask questions and share your views.

At our August forum, Steven Botterill from Campus Infrastructure Services (CIS) and George Khouri from Information Communication Technology (ICT) will provide an overview of the new Westmead Education and Conference Centre (WECC) level 1 refurbishment, which is opening this September. Dr Pippa Yeoman has been enthusiastically involved in the design-concept of the space, and will outline how to optimise use of the WECC’s level 1 with the ‘new ways of teaching’ model.

Part of the University of Sydney’s $500 million investment in Westmead, the WECC level 1 space has been transformed into a new, highly engaging teaching and learning environment to support and enable the work of University of Sydney and WSLHD students and staff participating in education and training at Westmead. The new facilities have been provided by the University of Sydney and the Western Sydney Local Health District’s Research and Education Network, providing attractive formal and informal learning spaces designed to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and support Westmead’s diverse students, educators, researchers and clinicians.

University of Sydney staff, students, affiliates and guests of the university are welcome to attend.
