The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition

An 80,000 word research project would take nine hours to present. Their time limit . . . three minutes!

Join us for an evening of edu-tainment.

Come along to UC and see a snapshot of the amazing research projects that are being conducted on the campus by higher degree research students.

On the night, watch our finalists battle it out for the UC 3MT crown, $3500 in prize money and a ticket to the 3MT Asia-Pacific Final (an international competition, which will be held at the University of Queensland later this year). Plus, cast your vote to help pick the winner of the People's Choice award. The audience favourite will take home a $500 cash prize.

After the competition, you will have the chance to mix and mingle with the competitors and judges over wine and canapés.

Adam Boland, Executive Producer (Video) at the Australian Academy of Science, author, ambassador for The Australian Foundation for Mental Health Research and Lifeline Canberra

Your MC for the evening is Professor Ross Thompson (@ProfRossatUC)

What is Three Minute Thesis (3MT)?
3MT is an international competition for research students to showcase their research. Students have to talk about what their research is and why it is important in plain language for three minutes, with only a single PowerPoint slide.
