Description

Conference Mission

This professional event will unite providers from diverse disciplines involved in the care of families during the perinatal period. The aim of the conference is to provide education, professional development and networking opportunities to strengthen integrated and collaborative care in the prevention and healing of birth trauma.

This conference brings together leading experts to share the latest updates on clinical research and best practice, while giving voice to the lived experience of physical and psychological birth trauma.

Conference Program

The 2019 program provides unique opportunity to hear from leading clinicians across disciplines on a variety of topics in a single stream, as you won’t want to miss any of our keynotes. The program covers impacts of physical and psychological birth trauma on multiple relationships: to one’s body and sense of self, the mother-infant relationship and the couple relationship. Practical approaches to prevention and healing will be an applied focus of the day. Our speakers will share wisdom from physiotherapy, obstetrics, midwifery, psychiatry, psychology, social work, relationship therapy and lived experience.

Our pre-conference workshop caters for a deep dive for those working in a counselling and psychological treatment capacity.
