Description

The Manufacturing Technologies Centre in collaboration with the University of South Australia, CADwalk Global and the Polaris Centre invite you to visit the Wearable Computer Laboratory, University of South Australia, Mawson Lakes Campus and the neighbouring CADwalk Global Mawson Lakes facility.

The tours will include presentations from the Wearable Computer Laboratory’s Director, Bruce Thomas and CADwalk Global’s Chief Operating Officer, Lena Kimenkowski.

The Wearable Computer Lab is a part of the new Innovative Manufacturing CRC and specialises in augmented reality, wearable computing, advanced human computer interaction techniques and visualisations. They have set up a number of technology demonstrations which will provide interest and stimulate discussion on other possible applications for business.

CADwalk has developed a unique system for space planning and design in both life size and real-time as well as fully scalable, in 2D & 3D and - if desired - in Virtual Reality. Unlike conventional planning tools, a whole team can work on complex room planning within a very short time. The application possibilities are almost unlimited: factory planning, office and building planning, shopping centres, retail store layouts, city planning, power supply, command and control centres, and more.

Please note: The tour will start at the Wearable Computer Lab, University of South Australia, Building V, Mawson Lakes. A bus will take attendees from the University of South Australia to CADwalk Global, 2 Discovery Way, Mawson Lakes at around 6.00pm and return to the University of South Australia carpark at 7.00pm.
