Event description

Description

Unfitness to plead laws in Australia have been widely recognised as requiring reform and modernisation. The Unfitness to Plead and Human Rights Project, which began in 2015, sought to develop practical and legal solutions to the problem of people with cognitive disabilities being found unfit to plead and subject to indefinite detention.

On behalf of the research team, the Melbourne Social Equity Institute would like to invite you to the launch of the project findings.

The report will be launched by Michael Black AC QC, former Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia and Member, Advisory Board, Melbourne Social Equity Institute, with special guest, Mr Marlon Noble.
