When we apologise for having our period, we are apologising for being a WOMAN Join Taboo Talk as we un-fuck period shame.
About this event
After 3 sell out events, Taboo Talk returns with another unconventional, out the gate and radically defiant workshop. Breaking stigmas & challenging narratives.
Let's Talk Taboo.....LET'S TALK PERIODS.
Hosted by Katie O'Neill, the creator of The Confidence Call, we will be getting messy (maybe literally) as we unpack the historically silenced and shamed yet completely fucking awesome, natural phenomenon called menstruation.
Yes, menstruation.
When half the population experiences about 450 periods in their lifetime (making up about 6 years of bleeding) WHY are we so uneducated on this biological function?
Not every person who has a period is a woman & not every woman gets her period
Menstrual inequity isn't a woman's issue - it's a HUMAN issue
Around the world, young women as young as 12 are dropping out of school because they don't have access to sanitary products.
In New Zealand, 70,000 women are impacted by menstrual inequity, so I've partnered up with The Period Place and will be donating 10% of all ticket sales to this movement.
EVERY PERSON is affected by periods, every f*cking day!
How many of us spend our time bleeding (and pre bleeding) thinking a big F*UCK you to our periods?
What if instead of hating our cycles we learnt how to each phase.
Wouldn't it be nice if our partners were as educated as we need to be?
Let's talk about (un)fucking our periods.
The Confidence Call is a safe place where we are able to open up, talk about the things we have internalised all these years, only to find out... we are not alone.
This event is designed as a safe place for ALL GENDERS to attend, we reserve judgment & encourage open minds - in fact, an open mind is mandatory.
Bring your girlfriends & your mummas... Your lovers, brothers and dads (we ALL need to hear this!)
Please keep in mind, profanity is embedded in my bones, therefore I have applied a 21+ age limit on Taboo Talk events. Sorry, not sorry.

I will not be giving 'health advice'. I am just a person, tired of outdated narratives conditioning our beliefs & trapping us in stupid stories that shouldn't exist in the first place.
