Event description

Description

The Melbourne UNESCO Observatory of Arts Education invite art makers, practitioners, educators, writers, designers, teachers, dancers and theatre makers to celebrate the arts in/as/for education.

Following the UNESCO Expert Symposium on Arts Education in Asia "Measuring the effects of arts in education" held in Hong Kong in January 2004, the Office of the UNESCO Regional Adviser for Culture in Asia and the Pacific produced the Asia-Pacific Action Plan. This document describes the strategy for establishing Arts Education Observatories in the Asia-Pacific region. The Observatories act as clearing houses, collecting, analysing, re-packaging and disseminating resources on arts education, with the objective of supporting advocacy processes and influencing policy making on Arts Education.

Melbourne UNESCO Observatory of Arts Education represents the arts in Australia to the wider UNESCO education community through research and practice in arts education. At this International Arts Week networking event, we invite you to studioFive so that we can showcase recent work and extend an invitation to you to consider how you can work with us to showcase arts education globally.

Please join us for wine, cheese and creative dialogue on Friday 25 May, 2018
