Description

Sitting is a part of every single persons lives, majority of us are required to sit on a chair during our education and very few of us have a career in which we don’t sit. Additionally, most forms of travel involve sitting for long periods of time. It is clear that sitting is most certainly part of our lives. The intention of this event is to educate any one who is interested in mitigating the mechanical defects of sitting.

Come and learn a handful of simple practical skills that will help you dodge bullets later in life.

Event Details

This event will be lead by Kieran Maguire, an Exercise Scientist who is currently undergoing his Masters in Exercise and will be hosted by the entire staff at Science of Fitness.

There will be light snacks and beverage options provided on-site.

Arrive at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm kick off - wrapping up at (roughly) 8pm.

Take Homes

The intention of this event is to educate anyone who is interested in mitigating the mechanical defects of sitting. This event is not a seminar on ergonomics. Our aim is to provide you with practical take-home tips & tricks to help improve posture, increase mobility and decrease pain/injury, ultimately improving wellbeing both now and later in life.

After leaving this event, you will have a greater understanding of what is required to help 'undo the chair'.

Do I have to be apart of Science of Fitness to attend?

No - absolutely not. This is an open event to the public!

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of on-street parking in McDougall Street and Crombie Street, as well as other local streets. On any given night, it is quite easy to find a park. You can also walk from the local bus stop (Coronation Drive) and train station (Milton Train Station) - respectively.

What can I bring into the event?

We recommend bringing a note pad and pen. If you're peckish, you're most welcome to bring a snack too.
