Event description

Description

This workshop is for everyday people who want to better understand and support their intersex, trans and gender diverse peers and loved ones.

We will explore the basic concepts of sex (bodies) and gender as well as language used within the intersex, trans and gender diverse community. We'll provide a judgement-free, welcoming environment where you can ask the questions that you might feel too awkward or embarrassed to ask elsewhere so that you can be a better ally at home, work and everyday life.

We will be covering:

  • What is the difference between sex, sexuality, gender, and gender identity/expression?
  • How and why do some people transition genders?
  • What does intersex mean? (the I in LGBTQI!)
  • What do trans, gender diverse and intersex people want you to know about them?

Come along with an open mind and open heart, and get a better grasp on sex and gender diversity.

Each session is a once-off (but you’re welcome to come back for a refresher!)
