Understanding the difference between prevention, intervention, and postvention is key to responding effectively to suicide risk and impact. This workshop explores each approach, clarifies their purpose, and shows how they work together across the university setting. Participants will leave with a clearer sense of where their role fits, and how to contribute to a coordinated, compassionate response.We welcome any staff member of any Australian university, regardless of your role.

- Define prevention, intervention and postvention in the context of suicide
- Recognise real-life examples of each approach in a university setting.
- Understand how all three together form a comprehensive safety and wellbeing strategy
- Appreciate the importance of postvention following a suicide death
