Understanding Grief and Loss – chronic disease or terminal illness
Event Information
About this Event
Understanding Grief and Loss is an online forum suitable for people with a chronic disease or terminal illness. This forum will cover information on what grief can look and feel like, how it affects us and how to care your yourself as well as others who are grieving. You will also have opportunity to get your questions answered by our experts.
Understanding Grief and Loss will be presented by Dr Margaret Sealey and facilitated by our CEO Lana Glogowski. Margaret is a Murdoch University researcher and lecturer who has worked in palliative care, oncology and dementia settings for over 20 years. With a previous background as a registered nurse, she also has qualifications in psychology and counselling. Her research interests are focused on end-of-life, family caregivers, grief, bereavement and dementia.
Once you register, we will be in touch to provide a Zoom log-in as well as some additional resources and tips to ensure you are well prepared for the session.
PLEASE NOTE: This specialised forum is designed purely for people with chronic disease or terminal illness. We aim to provide a safe space for this group of people to find out more about grief and loss from a very personal perspective. As such, it is NOT open to anyone interested in participating for professional reasons (i.e. those who work in the palliative care, aged care or health sectors). We suggest they instead register for our Understanding Grief and Loss forum that is aimed at the general community being held on Tuesday 16 June.
