In this special Reconciliation Week online workshop, Wiradjuri/Wailwan woman Donna Hensen will support participants to develop emotional intelligence about the Indigenous trauma trail and understand the lasting generational trauma among First Nations peoples. Donna will share strategies for how this knowledge can be practically applied in the classroom setting, ensuring teachers are empowered with a clear plan on how they, and their students, can contribute to reconciliation. This online session will include debrief time for participants to share and discuss their classroom plans and ideas.

Donna Hensen is a Wiradjuri/Wailwan woman from NSW and one of the Stolen Generation. Donna has worked tirelessly with disadvantaged and vulnerable Aboriginal communities in NSW and QLD to provide support and empowerment for many years. Donna’s own business is now focused on educating adults and children with the objective of normalising Aboriginal culture for everyone.

Please email events@qieu.asn.au with any questions or areas you want covered so we can give them to the presenter prior to the session to ensure the session is as interactive as possible.
