This half day workshop will build capacity and sector development for local service providers to enhance their capacity to engage and respond to migrant and refugee families who experience domestic and family violence.

This workshop will cover the following topics:

· Cultural, Ethnicity, Religious factors related to DV

· Understanding gender roles and traditions

· Culturally Sensitive Practice

· Risk Assessment & Safety Planning

Ms Jatinder Kaur is the Director of JK Diversity Consultants and Mental Health accredited Social Worker. She specialises in working with migrant and refugee communities. She has over 15 years professional experience of working in policy, research, child protection, mental health and social work practice. She is passionate about building cultural capacity within the professional workforce and delivers training and seminars across Australia.
