Description

Understanding Mental Ill-Health-depression

This series of seminars is aimed at providing an understanding of different mental health diagnoses affecting children and young people.

Depression is common in young people. This workshop will equip participants with the knowledge to identify signs and symptoms of depression and an understanding of risk and protective factors in the development of depression. Participants will learn what they can do to reduce the impact of depression on young people. We will discuss the importance of early identification and treatment for young people, the types of support that is available for young people and how and when to refer to these services.
