Speaker: Julie-Ann Pook (Social Worker)

Title: Understanding Complex Bereavement

Bio: Julie-Ann Pook is a social worker with the Queensland Health Specialist Palliative Care Service, based in the Sunshine Coast Health and Hospital District. Julie-Ann is passionate about improving the lives of palliative care clients and their carers, particularly through providing support for people as they deal with their inevitable grief and loss experiences, and helping them to find meaning in life in the midst of end of life care and bereavement. Julie-Ann and has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Bereavement Counselling and Intervention with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement.  In her presentation Julie-Ann will be presenting key information from this course, with the focus on understanding and supporting people experiencing complex bereavement.
