WayAhead's Understanding Anxiety Forum
Anxiety Disorders and are a serious mental health issue and are the most commonly experienced mental illness.
WayAhead's Understanding Anxiety Forum will present the latest information on Anxiety Disorders including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The presentation will feature experts in the field, those who have or are experiencing anxiety, and their carers.
Information on service providers in the Chatswood area will also be available.
Anxiety Disorders affect 14% of the population at any time. A recent Westfield survey of shoppers at their Chatswood centre found that Mental Health was their greatest concern.
Attendees are asked to arrive from 9 am for a prompt start at 10 am.
Morning tea and a free lunch will be provided.
Tea and coffee will be available from 9 am.
RSVP for catering purposes is essential.
A detailed agenda is currently being developed and will be sent to all registrants when ready.

In addition to the Understanding Anxiety Forum; WayAhead, in conjunction with Willoughby City Council and local health providers, is holding a Mental Health Expo in Chatswood Mall on Wednesday April 5. The Expo is aimed at the general population but will also have a strong multi-lingual component to cater for the culturally diverse community that is Chatswood.
Think of the Mental Health Expo as a marketplace for local mental health providers to meet and greet visitors. Come along, take a short “Check Up from the Neck Up” with a bilingual psychologist in the NSW Mental Health Commission’s tent or enjoy a session of Tai Chi. Like any marketplace, there will be food from Chatswood's great food outlets on offer - free!
