Understanding Aged Care Options
Event Information
About this event
Do you need some extra support at home?
Want to understand more about your options and plan for the future?
Are you helping an older family member or friend to apply for aged care and not sure where to start?
This session will provide an overview of the government-funded aged care support available to Victorians living at home including:
- what services and items are available
- costs and waiting times
- the difference between the Commonwealth Home Support Program and the Home Care Packages Program
- how to register
- what to expect at your assessment.
This session will be recorded.
This event will be presented by our Aged Care Navigator Cassie Browne. Cassie has worked in community aged care for many years in a variety of roles including assessment and Home Care Packages.
Sessions are capped at 30 participants to allow plenty of time for questions and discussion. Attendees will also have an opportunity to book an individual appointment if they wish to discuss their situation in more detail.
The Aged Care Navigator trial is a government-funded program and both group and individual sessions are free of charge.
The Aged Care Navigator trial is delivered by Elder Rights Advocacy (ERA). ERA’s workforce is a team working towards the collective vision of a diverse, vibrant, multicultural community where older people are respected, heard and well-informed, and can exercise their rights and responsibilities with confidence.
