Dance down the war on drugs!
UNDEAD is a fundraiser for Unharm, a grassroots organisation working towards safe, positive and ethical drug use. On the weekend close to Day of the Dead our Queer Contingent is putting on a party for politics, fun, sexy devils and killer dress-ups.
The war on drugs is a war on people, hitting the most disenfranchised the hardest. For years now, queers, Indigenous people, non-whites, the young and the poor, have been prime targets of intimidatory policing. Sydney's queer dance party culture - the envy of the world - has suffered blows. But we are resilient.
When we come together to dance, it's deadly serious. We make space for pleasure and resistance against violence and hate. The war on drugs has hurt people we love. Let's wage peace.
Let's get rid of drug detection dogs, and support the introduction of pill testing to music festivals. Let's work towards decriminalistion, and keep education and health top priorities.
And LET'S DANCE!
