Event description

Description

Geoscience Australia, in collaboration with the Northern Territory Geological Survey, is hosting a workshop outlining new mineral exploration opportunities in the East Tennant area, which lies beneath the Barkly Tableland and extends approximately 250 km east of Tennant Creek. This area has been the focus of geochemical, geological and geophysical data acquisition as part of Geoscience Australia's Exploring for the Future program.

This free event will showcase new insights into the East Tennant area and will describe how this under-explored region has opportunities for greenfields mineral discoveries.

The workshop is an opportunity for explorers to hear about:

  • New datasets, insights and opportunities for mineral exploration in the East Tennant area

  • Geoscience Australia's future work program in the region

  • Northern Territory Geological Survey activities in the Barkly and Gulf areas

  • How to apply for tenure in the East Tennant area.

Presentations will be followed by an opportunity for informal discussion and viewing of maps with Geoscience Australia and Northern Territory Geological Survey representatives.
