Event description

Description

CIIC brings together academic researchers and practitioners working in the private sector, in particular research and development staff, heads of product development, and individual creative technologists, innovators, and entrepreneurs to tackle wicked problems that don’t have an obvious solution. There are many challenges that go beyond the established framework of research in industry, government and academia so we gather as an interdisciplinary group to see what worthy change we can make.

CIIC believes that in order to be successful on the world stage, and to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges that lie ahead, Australian and New Zealand researchers and innovators must create and nurture a collaborative culture that encourages diversification, and that bridges organisational boundaries and traditional research silos.

CIIC is a series of regular quarterly gatherings that use the format of Open Space. The quarterly schedule of CIIC unconferences gives working groups regular opportunities for intensive collaboration, knowledge sharing, joint data analysis, problem solving, and solution prototyping. CIIC sessions currently happen in Auckland, NZ and Melbourne, Australia.

For our September session, we will explore the essence of humanity and how to construct organisations that perform a valuable function in the living world.
