Want to be a part of designing local solutions to the United Nations 17 sustainable goals? Join us in a two-day Global Hackathon!

This year RMIT Sustainability, RMIT Activator, DesignThinkers Group Australia ,Yarra Riverkeeper and Banksia Foundation are collaborating to deliver the Melbourne Global Goals Jam.

The annual Global Goals Jam is a two-day event to engage makers and designers to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals by creating short-term interventions with long-term impact.

More than an event, it is a network of cities and organisations that are excited to engage their local communities to create real impact for the Global Goals.

We invite anyone with an aspiration to create impact to attend for an action-packed/ design thinking/ problem solving weekend!

Free food and drink will be provided as well as significant prizes for the winning teams, who will pitch their final presentation to a panel of judges as well as uploading it to the Global Goals live feed via #slack.

Your video could be screened at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York on the 23rd of September.

**Limited tickets available, don't miss out on your opportunity to create impact**

The Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) that the Jam will tackle includes:

Water (Goal #6) & Climate Change ( Goal #13) in the context of Greater Melbourne (Goal #11 Sustainable Cities & Communities):

Water is at the core of sustainable development and is critical for socioeconomic development, energy and food production, healthy ecosystems and for human survival itself. Water is also at the heart of adaptation to climate change, serving as the crucial link between the society and the environment. How do we improve water quality and reduce pollution, increase water recycling and water reuse? How might we involve the local communities in improving water and sanitation management? How do we make sure there is (and will be) enough fresh water for everyone? And how do we prepare our cities and living environments for the results of climate change and water flooding on the one, or water scarcity on the other hand?
