  • If you have answered yes, then you may need to sit a compulsory entry exam known as UMAT (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test) before you can apply for cetain universities!

The National Institute of Education (NIE) is proud to present the free informastion seminar all about UMAT and the undegraduate pathways into medicine and some other health science programs.

  • During this session, we will be covering the following topics:

  • The undergraduate Selection Criteria

  • What is UMAT?

  • When and who can sit the UMAT

  • Can you prepare for the UMAT

  • Other selection criteria information including the interview process

This forum is an excellent opportunity for students as well as their parents to find out about the UMAT and to have their questions answered by experts who have been working in the field since 1999.

Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 interested in medicine, dentistry, or optometry will need to sit the compulsory UMAT (examination) when applying for one of the above career choices. On the 11th of March 2018, NIE will be conducting a full day UMAT preparation workshop, which will be held at the Canberra Grammar School. Places are strictly limited.
