We would be delighted by your presence at a spring breakfast honouring UC women who are changing the world. Join our MC, Ms Amanda Whitley and keynote speakers Ms Kate Mason and Professor Sudha Rao to support, recognise and celebrate the women in UC's community.
The breakfast is a great opportunity to make new connections, hear from three extraordinary UC women and support ground-breaking research to improve treatments and survival rates for metastatic breast cancer patients.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Australia and will affect almost every Australian int heir lifetime. Professor Rao and her team have been able to peel apart cancer stem cells and identify key proteins that cause the cells to tick. Following this discovery, they have identified novel drugs that block the cancer stem cells, allowing them to develop a new treatment approach that eliminates both the cancerous mass and the cancer stem cells. This ground-breaking research has the potential to stop cancer in its tracks and provide patients with the peace of mind that their cancer will not return.
Donor support is vital for us to continue to fast-track this research and extend the approach to other forms of cancer. 100% of event proceeds will go directly to the UC Cancer Research Fund.
This means for every ticket we sell, more lives can be spared or enhanced by this ground-breaking treatment.
