Could you live in 14 square metres?
Join Australian Institute of Urban Studies of SA on Wednesday 30 November from 5.30pm - 7.00pm to discuss how little houses fit in today's urban environment at our Urban Briefing No. 5.
At this Briefing we are pleased to host special guests Farrin Foster (CityMag) and John Baxter (Builder, Own Home) for a conversation on one of Australia's most thought-provoking topics, which will interest all those struggling with the broken model of home ownership in 2016.
A journalist by trade, writer by ambition and occasional filmmaker by necessity; Farrin is currently the editor of CityMag. At 29-years-old she has had careers in traditional media, politics, the arts and public relations. A few years ago she stumbled blindly into the world of small business ownership and is yet to find a way to extract herself. Specialising in telling individual stories that reflect larger truths, Farrin has worked on projects as far afield as Los Angeles but is also dedicated to contributing to the conversation in her home town of Adelaide.
John Baxter is a tiny house builder, pioneer, experimenter and future resident, champion for housing equity and disciple in the church of real things. Former state government bureaucrat, facilitator and community organiser. Sydney boy; Adelaide convert.
This is a networking event. Please bring an open mind and warm embrace.
