Course: Writers and Rogues in early Newcastle

Ross Edmonds is an avid collector. ‘The Ross Edmonds Cabinet Card Collection’ was digitised by Newcastle University in 2019. In this conversation Ross will talk about his wonderful collection including original books with Joy Barrow.

Presenter: Joy Barrow & Ross Edmonds

Joy Barrow and her husband David, an award- winning director, are retired documentary makers and have produced television programs that screened in over 40 countries. Their work has been diverse and they have been fortunate enough to work in many countries.  Joy began life as an actor and David presented television news and weather before they moved to the other side of the camera and formed their own company.

Ross Edmonds is a retired teacher who has been collecting rare books for 40 years. During that time, he has developed an appreciation and interest in the history of art and literature. He often writes articles on these subjects for 'Biblionews' which is the quarterly journal of the Book Collectors Society of Australia. He has also published two books on local and family history.
