About this event

Sulari Gentil introduces the underlying structure of the traditional crime novel and considers the ways that established tropes and reader expectations may be tested and twisted.

Format:

This is a hybrid workshop with a focus on craft; it will be held in-person at Queensland Writers Centre and live streamed simultaneously to an online audience. It is a level 1 course suitable for writers of all levels.

About Sulari:

Sulari Gentill is the author of 14 published novels. She was part of an Australia Council sponsored delegation of Australian Mystery Writers who toured the US in 2019 to promote Australian Crime Fiction to a US readership. Most recently, Sulari was awarded a Copyright Agency Create Grant for a new literary mystery titled The Woman in the Library which will be published in May 2022.
