The Seminar

The research is out and is pretty overwhelming. The workforce landscape is changing, and probably changing faster than we realise or are prepared to accept. The type of work that our students will experience between now and 2030 will be vastly different to what current and past generations have experienced. It’s no longer enough to have a good knowledge base and finish university successfully in order to be employable. In fact, now more than ever before, university graduates are struggling to find full time work. So, if preparation for university isn’t going to equal success in the workforce, what are we doing in our schools to better prepare students for this future era of work? This workshop will address the challenging but exciting times we live in as educators and present some real world, practical examples of what schools can do to address this issue.

About the Twilight Seminar Series

In keeping with the Education Partnerships Professional Learning (EPPL) Office's desire to build partnerships with sites which take our education students for their Supervised Professional Experience, an invitation is extended to our partner schools to attend our Twilight Professional Development Seminars.

The series will be based on topics delivered by University of the Sunshine Coast academic staff and high-quality education professionals to enhance and contribute to the professional development of school staff.

Come along with your peers and other partner schools and attend engaging, though-provoking and practical seminars that support your professional development.  Certificates of Attendance are issued at the end of each seminar to make it easy for you to gain credit towards your annual QCT professional development requirements.

Criteria for Registration

Note: Your site will need to be a USC Education partner site for you to register for this event.

This means that your site will need to have provided Supervised Professional Experience for our Pre-Service Teachers in 2016, or plan to do so in 2017.

If you are in doubt about this, please contact us at educationprofessionallearning@usc.edu.au to check if your school is a partner.

Please do not register if your school is not a partner, as we cannot accept your registration. We are obliged to provide support in the first instance, to those schools who have support the university.
