Tuning into Kids™ Parenting program
Wed., 26/04/2017, 7:30 pm – Wed., 31/05/2017, 9:30 pm AEST
An evidence-based parenting program from Melbourne University that focuses on the emotional connection between parents and children.
6 consecutive weeks from Wednesday, 26th April to Wednesday, 31 May 2017, 7.30pm - 9.30pm.
As parents, the busier we get, the less able we are to connect with those we love.
Research shows that parenting styles influence a child’s emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and control your emotions, as well as being able to communicate to others about how you feel. Children with good emotional intelligence often have better emotional, social, and physical functioning, as well as fewer behavioural difficulties.
If emotions are a challenge for you, chances are they're also a challenge for your child.
Tuning in to Kids™ is a parenting program that helps parents to support the development of emotional intelligence in their child through emotion coaching. Emotion Coaching recognises, understands and responds to children’s emotions in an accepting, supportive way. This approach helps the child to understand and manage their emotions and build resilience.
Tuning in to Kids™ is aimed at mums or dads of 4 - 10 year olds.
Places are limited to 14 participants.
