About this Event
Tuned Up For WHAT?
This car program for young people consists of 3 areas:
Driver Development Session
- hazard identification and crash avoidance through the ‘6 Steps to Proactive Driving TM’
- driver distraction
- technology use
- roadside observation
- following distance
- night driving
- intersection safety.
Vehicle Maintenance
- how to maintain a vehicle for passive and active crash avoidance
- know about the different types of petrol
- how to change and fill oils
- know how to fill water and fluids
- vehicle electrics
- check your tyre tread
- know the safety equipment that's in cars and how to set them up
- as well as how to safely change a flat tyre.
Vehicle Purchasing
- how to use the ANCAP or Used Car Safety Ratings to check the stars on your dream car
- to buy the safest car possible
- learn about safety features that can help avoid a crash.
Lunch will be provided.
This program is targeted at ages 16- 22 (parents are encouraged to attend as well).
Bookings essential.
This workshop will adhere to strict social distancing and hygiene measures limiting attendees, workshops maximum participants will be based on room size.
