This December join Opera Queensland on a musical journey into the next world...
Tumbulgum and the Countdown to Midnight at the First Supper Between Now and Forever
There’s been an accident on the Tweed river.
Someone has died and when that happens souls come to wait here on the bank to find out who will be taken into the afterlife. They’re waiting for the Ferryman to decide.
The Tumbulgum Hall will be transformed into this other-worldly place; a place where souls meet and where the community comes together. And while souls meet this December they’ll be taken on a musical journey into the next world and into forever.
Tumbulgum and the Countdown to Midnight at the First Supper Between Now and Forever is a wondrous and heart-warming production by Opera Queensland, based on stories from the Tumbulgum Hall and the surrounding community.
Told through an amalgam of theatrical styles with music at the centre, the show has been shaped around sounds of the Northern Rivers region including traditional folk music and traditional opera to sea shanties and original songs from local artists weave their way into the telling.
Bring a plate to share, reminiscent of your favourite hall.
Tickets // $20 // Family $50 (2 Adult + 2 Children under 18)
Please note: this event is in NSW so all start times are AEDT.
Presented as part of If These Halls Could Talk; a multi-arts project developed by Arts Northern Rivers celebrating regional halls and the role they play in our communities.
