Description

Bushcare Volunteering at Sir Joseph Banks Park

Bayside Council is starting a new Bushcare group at the park as invasive weeds are starting to take over and we need your help protecting the natural diversity of the area and to help our unique bushland to flourish. Council is inviting the community to a “Try Bushcare Open Day” on Saturday the 18th of November between 1pm to 3:30 pm to introduce potential volunteers to what is involved in Bushcare. Meet at the park information sign at the corner of Folkestone Parade/The Esplanade, Botany. Volunteers participate in plant identification, weeding, fauna observations, planting, onsite training, increase their knowledge of the local environment and make new friends. No experience or particular skills are required, just wear enclosed shoes, a hat and comfortable clothes. Afternoon tea, training and all tools/equipment will be provided.

If you would like to attend the Sir Joseph Banks Park Bushcare Group Open Day or like learn more about Council’s Bushcare program, please contact Council’s Natural Resource Management Officer on 0411 028 198 or email stewart.harris@bayside.nsw.gov.au
