Day 1 - Choose 1 of 3 Workshops

Workshop 1 - Dr Cheryl McNeil

This is the ultimate opportunity for professionals interested in becoming certified PCIT clinicians. You will be engaging with Dr Cheryl McNeil and other professionals through the lens of case studies which will introduce the principles of PCIT as well as include the skills of coding.

------------- OR -------------

Workshop 2 - Professor Jeremy Holmes

Professor Jeremy Holmes is leading an interactive workshop on the emerging discipline of Attachment-informed relational neuroscience which offers a cutting-edge scientific underpinning for psychodynamic psychotherapy. The workshop will look at the features of and intergenerational transmission of Attachment security and insecurity; the role of mentalising/‘mind-mindedness’ in child development and therapist-patient relationship; and the emergence of complex and nuanced narratives in the course of therapy. As well as this you will be involved in a ‘live supervision’ session illustrating the practical implications of these theoretical discussons.

------------- OR -------------

Workshop 3 - Professor Dorothy Scott

You will have the opportunity to build on the conceptual framework for understanding fragile families where impaired parenting is the presenting problem. Renowned expert Professor Dorothy Scott will lead you through the six key components of effective services; family inclusive practice, holistic integrated responses, collaboration with other services, cultural competence, relationship-based practice and transformational leadership. To illustrate these components extensive use of exemplary programs and case material will be used to explore how these ideas can be embedded into the way you deliver services.

-------------------------------------------

Day 2

The second day of the conference brings together the keynote speakers and a suite of presenters covering the latest trends and research in how to support families in the 21st century.
