I am proud to announce the 3rd annual fundraiser held in conjunction with Bill & James – dining / coffee / events. As always we will be raising funds to support Cancer Council NSW carry out their amazing work in cancer research, advocacy, information and support, fundraising, and prevention.
This year I am taking on the Kokoda Trail for Cancer Council NSW. I will be trekking 110km with 15 other people all fundraising to help make a difference. This is a truly amazing charity to be a part of, one that covers the entire cancer process from beginning to end.
In 2012 I lost my father to cancer. Cancer is a terrible and ugly disease which unfortunately will affect too many families and loved ones in this lifetime. It strips people of their dignity and leaves behind families who struggle to understand why this terrible disease still exists.
Cancer Council NSW is the only charity that works across all levels and stages of cancer – diagnosis, treatment, assistance to battlers and their families, research, and prevention campaigns. They are one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in the country, who over the past 10 years has contributed more than $135million to cancer research. They will not be able to continue the amazing work they do without our help.
Every dollar is so critical and can make a difference. I’m fortunate enough to work for Cancer Council NSW and can see first-hand where the donations go and the difference it can make. I speak to people who have benefited from the research that is funded and from the services that are offered, of which 96% is funded by donations.
Together we can make a difference, together we can make sure cancer comes last, and together we will beat cancer.
