This is a repeat of training held on the 31 March 2017

Working with clients affected by trauma is a challenging aspect of a lawyer’s role. This training will show you a practical, strengths based approach in building a client’s sense of safety, control and empowerment.

You will learn:

  • to identify the impact of psychological trauma

  • how to appropriately talk about traumatic events

  • simple and appropriate strategies to deal with distress, apply self-care and avoid burn out.

This workshop will be facilitated by WLSV.

We advocate for the rights of women and their children and work with the legal, justice and family violence sectors to make sure women know about the law.
