Description

Free places in sector leading training on Aboriginal trauma

MHCC is excited to offer fully funded places in our Aboriginal Trauma Informed Care in Practice course.

Do you support Indigenous people and communities impacted by trauma? While the impact of trauma is still under-recognised in provision of mental health services, Aboriginal people have been using a trauma-informed approach in response to the healing needs of Indigenous families and communities for nearly twenty years.

This training is designed, developed and delivered by Aboriginal people for workers in the mental health or community service sectors who support Aboriginal people impacted by trauma. Created by We Al-li, this workshop is equally relevant to Indigenous and non-Indigenous workers across mental health and community sectors, and anyone who supports Aboriginal people impacted by trauma. Learners will come to understand generational, collective-social, cultural and developmental trauma within Indigenous families and communities. They will be taken through concepts of cultural competency and cultural safety and how these relate to trauma recovery, self-governance and self-care for individuals, families and communities.

Don’t hesitate to snap up this incredible offer of free training from a leading peak body in the field of trauma-informed recovery oriented practice.

This training is funded by NSW Health.
