About the Course:

The first term of the course is an introduction to the practice of meditation in a non-religious approach but at the same time blending the teachings of different traditions that use the same mechanisms and principles to stabilize the body and the mind and facilitate the establishment of a routine of meditation. Also, the course will enable the students to approach meditation from a scientific point of view regarding theory and practices. The goals in the first stage are:

- understanding the mechanisms and concepts of meditation from a science-based approach;

- providing guidelines in order to establish a routine of meditation;

- clarifying misconceptions about meditation;

- getting an understanding of the processes that lead us to stress and how to counter-act these processes triggering the relaxation response.

· The course is beneficial to people who have never meditated before or those who want to reconnect with their practices as it will provide the necessary structure and guidelines to establish a regular practice of meditation (create a routine) and reap all the benefits that meditation can promote such as: increase focus;
